Alvero "Val" Pereira

Alvero “Val” Pereira, 91, of Ludlow passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Son of the late Domingos and Lucinda (Pereira) Pereira, he was born in Ludlow on July 29, 1932. A graduate of the former Springfield Trade High School, Val worked as a driver for Bruschi Construction and Banas Sand and Gravel. He enjoyed trips to the casino and especially hunting and fishing with his late brother and best friend John.

Val is survived by his sister Hazel Mazzuco and many beloved nieces and nephews, especially Lynn Santos, Joyce Cain and John Pereira who were his caregivers. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother John Pereira and his sisters Rosalina Martin, Irene Galarneau, Alice Sczygiel and Emily Carol Thompson.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass for Val on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
