Evelyn K. (Niziolek) Hiorns

Evelyn K (Niziolek) Hiorns, 89, of Ludlow, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Daughter of the late Walter and Bertha (Kagan) Niziolek, she was born in Chicopee on October 7, 1934. A graduate of Chicopee High School, Evelyn worked for many years as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service. She was a longtime communicant of Christ the King Parish in Ludlow.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter Donna Hiorns of Granville; her son Steven Hiorns (Elizabeth) of Naples, FL, granddaughter Victoria DiPrato (Jordan); her son Scott Hiorns (Lynn) of Ludlow; grandchildren Rachel Breen (Timothy), Melanie and Jaclyn Kareta, and Anthony Tompkins and her great-grandchildren Taylor Kareta and Genevieve Charette. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald Hiorns, her brothers Joseph and Thomas Niziolek and her sisters Helen Marczyk and Jane Topor

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass for Evelyn on Wednesday, August 7 2024 at 11:00 AM in Christ the King Church, Warsaw Ave, Ludlow, MA. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Evelyn’s family requests that donations in her memory be made to the Ludlow Veterans’ Center, 487 Holyoke St., Ludlow, MA 01056.
